You are only required to have left and right brake lights so as long as you don't obstruct them the po-po will not bother you

Incorrect. A Centre High-Mount Stop Light has been a requirement in Australian Design Rules since 1990 (or thereabouts)(Europe adopted much later)

Would you expect any less from me?

I may not post as much as some others (Tadz :P) but when I do, it is always right hahaha

I think my epic reputation proves it to haha

Under the modified street car/hot rod laws they don't require a third brake light

Do you refer to this document?

http://www.transport.qld.gov.au/resourc ... icles2.pdf

As that is a GUIDE only, not legislation and can't not be used for reference. It has a disclaimer in it somewhere. (EDIT: Found it)

The contents of this publication are a guide only and
cannot be used as a reference to a point of law. For a
detailed explanation, refer to the Transport Operations
(Road Use Management - Vehicle Standards and Safety)
Regulation 1999.

I will find the ADR document for you. And ALL VEHICLES must meed the ADRs current at the date of production of that vehicle at all time, otherwise it is illegal and unroadworthy.

That's because there isn't. I was asking if Speedie was referring to that document for what he was saying.

Here is the ADR for Centre High Mounted Stop Light. Effective for passenger cars manufactured after 1st July 1989.

http://www.comlaw.gov.au/ComLaw/Legisla ... B1000C247B

Take note of the specific clause 60.2.4.2:

Each lamp must-
not contain symbols, letters or characters other than those necessary for part number, manufacturer’s identification and/or approval number identification

That is addition to another ADR regarding lights, where there is an requirement regarding obstruction of the lamp.

I'm gonna lock this again in a second - Ozie's wishes - but I'd just like to point out Adrian is simply making a point, it is the members choice to purchase, install them or not. Not Adrians. I'd be quite happy to install these in my car - indeed, I have requested these off Ozie a while back cause they look fantastic on his and I really cant see a cop pulling me over for THAT!
It comes down to choice, and choice is important, regardless of what that choice is. If you're still interested in one of these, like me, feel free to PM Ozie.

Josh.
