I opened the 3 bonnets today. 2 were good and 1 was damaged. It was the centre one. It was either damaged before packing or package was unpacked by customs for inspection and then put back in the crate in different positions. I cant see any other explanation why the centre one would be the only one that was damaged.
Here are the pictures of 1 fitted on to my car. Overall is good. The bonnet is a little high against the guard about 300mm from the back of the guard on the drivers side. The centre vent is very poor and will need replacing. I hope to get one from ebay or possible a genuine.

Good to hear that the shipment finally arrived. Bummer about the damaged bonnet. What damage is there? Usually customs will reseal and plonk a customs "resealed" sticker on the boxes. Was the inner box visibly opened and resealed.aspir3 wrote:I opened the 3 bonnets today. 2 were good and 1 was damaged. It was the centre one. I thought there were 3 members in SA for bonnet replacement, so how you guys going to fairly decide who gets the good ones? Coin toss? Tough decisions ahead....

Looks like Troy has already decided where 1 good one goes..... if this is anything to go by http://clubcj.net/viewtopic.php?p=251298#251298 - so I guess it's a 50/50 battle for the other one.

Ryan we now have 3 good bonnets and 3 damaged bonnets. Remember we had 1 good bonnet from the original shipment.
All bonnets need a little work but good for their price. Remember I am very picky. You could just paint them but to a trained eye you can see the top surface needs a little filling in the low areas. This is no different then you would get often in factory from OEM parts. I use to work at Hirotec that supply panels to Holdens and bonnets had a very high rework rate. unfortunately they are a very visible part.
The 3 damaged bonnets are by no means really bad. It is not like they look like after an accident. They are repairable but would take more to repair then to replace.
Oh, I didn't know we had an good one from the original shipment. But still, that leaves the issue of picking a bonnet. I'm sure each bonnet would defer in fitment. Are we just doing this by the luck of the draw? Just curious, that's all.

I don't know if you read through the thread Hasib.
This group buy was completed.
I NEVER want to deal with the sellers we got these parts from EVER AGAIN.
No more LED Tail Lights left.
Try eBay. Prices have now dropped and are very competitive.
Actually come to think of it, this GB has completed.
If we see any money from our insurance claim, I'll keep you guys posted.
VERY BAD GB this. I hope participants don't hold it against me.
