A number of sites, just google the story title, mention that it is just a hoax and Schumacker is NOT The Stig.

Its obvious the that Michael is NOT the STIG, he is way too busy and is hardly ever in the county.

It will always be top secret. They're just teasing the audience with the Schumi scheme. It was clear Stiggie babied the Veyron otherwise it could have clocked a better lap time.

Is the Stig always one person? It could be a different person each a professional "test driver" for that make/model of car

I'm thinking the same thing too. It could be different professional drivers, and BBC is just wanting to make their audience believe it's just one person. Obviously the one they send out to travel in public transport during some of their trips isn't the actual racer.
