ClubCJ - The CJ Lancer Club

Just a note to let you know that the server will be going offline.

Seems our current hosting provider has provided us with a matter of days to move as they're exiting the server hosting business. The lack of notice is very disappointing.

They have been notifying customers since December, and they admit that some customers were not getting the notifications (which seems to have included us).

Unfortunately they cannot extend the cut off date of the 11th Jan since they lease all their equipment and must power off and return that equipment since they have not renewed their long term lease.

So I'll be working over the next few days to try and configure a new server and also move all our data across before the official shut down.

Hopefully I can accomplish this with minimal down time. At worst it may be a couple of days, at best a few hours. It all depends on my work schedule and other commitments.
There will be a day where I'll need half a day to freeze the database and move it across to the new server.

So if we do disappear from the internet, it wont be forever. We'll be back.

Do you need a host?
I have a friend who has been hosting quite a few website including my website for selling stickers

Thanks Dennis, I've already organised a new host last night. We'll be moving from the US East (Columbus OHIO) to a hosting provider in Los Angeles.

I'll be spending the next couple of nights building the software on the new server, securing it's defences and security and testing it. Fun for me! LAN party any one?

Yeah, Erin, it's pretty ordinary alright.... Oh well... hopefully this wont be disastrous...

Man, this really sucks. A server business is closing down without making sure they've let all of their clients know about it and provide enough notice. Hopefully the transition won't face too many hurdles.

Current plan is to take the sever offline tonight some time after 10pm AEDT. So I can freeze the database and copy all our data across.
Hopefully during this time of copying data across I can push changes to all the global servers and re-point "clubcj.net" to the new server.

Assuming everything going smoothly, I'm aiming to hopefully have this done by tmrw morning.
I've done most of the work I need, but I am bit behind. I hoping to catch up on that this afternoon when I wake up.
