This guy documents the 3 weeks he spends on detailing and modding his new Vauxhaul Astra Vxr Nurburgring Edition.
I don't think I'd ever be _this_ enthusiastic. But it's an interesting read on the various amounts of detailing one can do on a car.
OK, this is a bit of an epic, and a warning for those on slow internet connections....

Edit: typo'd "3 months" instead of "3 weeks"

That is either OCD or dedication.

I think it's somewhat both...dedication is one thing, but OCD is what was needed for those extreme details...

OMG A HAIR HE HAS TO REWASH!!!!
plus after all that care of using pointless bottled water, the car still has a shitty OEM paintjob full of tiny tiny scratches like everyone elses car.
OMG best quote of the entire thing...
and headlights infact everything as i got carried away with it...

I have enough trouble getting the motivation to polish my car after a wash!!
Somehow I managed to claybar and wax on Saturday, but I left the interior till Sunday as I was over it!!!

Haha try for 51 layers!
"Now the time has moved on quite a bit because i have been applying 3 layers per day since the 29th of May when i originally finished the correction....
My goal is 51 layers which i knew would take approximately 3 weeks being done correctly..."

That is just sad... there is no way a car needs that many layers.... Just think of how much it would cost!!

Actually he's referring to the blob of paint (which has been magnified a gazillion times) and gets all circumspect and let's it slide. LOLz. Yes, i caught up on a lot of reading last night. ROFL.

I read through that entire thing and you gotta give it up to him. Truely does love his car.
Epic thread indeed!
