Just strolling home after some mod shopping near St Marys and this little white mx5 pulls up with all these jdm stickers on it. I absolutely hate that!!!! He gave me THE LOOK!! You guys know what I'm on about
Revved his car out and I'm sure I could hear a turbo. Anyways I gave the car a squirt and i heard him hitting the limiter. I managed 5k revs and didn't go any harder. And he couldnt keep up :p I am so surprised at how much power the 2.0l actually has. Compared to my last car (also 2.0l)
How do yours drive your cars? At what revs do you shift at. I kinda get paranoid about breaking something on my brand new car lol

Not that I condone street racing but I've had my 2.4 over 5k, close to 6k but the power comes on so quick before I know it I'm up shifting to 3rd.
Most modern cars have limiters to stop you over revving and damaging your engine, I'm sure this is the case with the CJ.
Best advice is to do it some times be not all the time as it's probably not good for the long term health of your engine.

yes there is a rev limiter on all CJ's from the factory.
This is controlled by the ECU and is a changeable field.
Whats great about the 4B11 series is that they feature variable valve timing on both intake AND exhaust.
this definitely contributes to more power and better fuel efficiency than previous generations.

Back to the original post and I guess you gave the racing boy in the MX5 something to think about, but just be careful they could be baiting you and before you know its you're pulled over for speeding.
Times like this I can't help but think of Marty McFly!

Haha 😂 classic. Yeah I've heard of that happening a little bit. No more racing for me I think though. Was enough excitement for a while. Reminds me of when I was sponsored

If you do the Marty McFly trick just remember to check your mirrors
