Yes, Adrian and I discussed it. I believe they made a mistake. My mistake was believing them I did not check it myself, as it was a spur of the moment thing to bid on it, at first I just looked, but then I thought about it, and thought I could make some cash on it, so I bid for it in the end.

You should really know your cars and get each and every detail right. A colleague of mine got a 2004 Mazda6 thinking it was a 5-speed auto but turns out it was only 4. It wasn't really conning because he didn't bother asking. After a few months he got a 2007 model of the same shape and finally had 5 gears. I'm happy now that he's happy but boy, a big loss trading it in and all that.

Indeed. However, I'm really not looking at re-conditioning the car for reselling later. Yet.....
I don't have the skills or tools for that. What I'm looking to do is to strip the car and sell it for parts So it really doesn't matter what date it was built, as long as the part is what people are looking for.

It's not really based on model though. It's based on what you can salvage. So you'll have to have a trained eye and a book full of prices or know what someone will pay for something which is why panel beaters are usually around when these things are going on.

Years back, when holden first put the 3.8 v6 in the Commodore I got a good price on a front cut this way. After some engineering the 3.8 ended up hiding under the bonnet of a rear drive TF Gemini.

Hmmm... I'm wondering about something....
There is a 2003 Toyota Corolla stolen and recovered vehicle - not a scratch on it.... should I bid for it....
Anyone know the implications and how much I could make for it?
If you are interested, this is the website: http://www.pickles.com.au/damaged/vehic ... -252180985
You comments please. I think I should, but I'm trying to learn as much as I can about stolen and recovered vehicles.
