NZ Ralliart why
looked through the topics and did not see much on this here couple of questions why does the NZ ralliart have 180kw and ours are 177kw I know it's only 3kw but why also it comes with Recaro seats std, no one seems to get it std as it is a option in the US plus the wheels are different no one else got these wheels that I can see, also with exchange rate you can buy one in NZ and ship it here pay less and if you owned it in NZ for 12 months there is not import duty
So whats the story
it's a shame we missed out on the options for the seats I wanted those Recaro's

Yeah they get an extra 3 kw due to our extra strict emissions laws.
Recaros AND HID headlights they also get, we don't even get it as an option here.
The VRX over there has Leather and HIDs as standard, and once again we don't even get it as an option.
You won't be allowed to import one though, except if you live with it in NZ for one year and then bring it over as a personal import. But very complicated still, as you'd still have to bring it up to ADR compliance witch would require changing the emissions system to meet our requirements.

We have had threads about this from back when it came out. The Ralliart came to NZ in December 08 only a month after it came to AUS. MMAL told us they didn't come with the new wheels because they couldn't come up with a wheel design in time for the aussie launch, and here we are a few years model later and we are still waiting. Its a crock of .......

No you can't......same rules as importing from Japan. If its sold new in dealerships here in Australia, you can't import them from other countries unless its a personal import due to you living in that country for over a year. This law has been around for ages. Thats why you can only import evo 8's or under. (unless its for rally/race and then you need a cams license)

To be technical, they are an exporter.
What QLD Ralliart Lancer says is 100% correct. Basically, if the car is sold in volume here, or is very close to what is sold it is not eligible for compliance in Australia.
