FLASHING BRAKE LIGHTS
Moderators: Moderators, Senior Moderators
I dont know if you guys have seen it, and I know that its the worldwide ad for Mercedes featuring an overseas model. But its the one where the grim reaper says 'I'm Sorry' and the guy slams on the brake. You can see the flashing lights on that and it actually seems to be a pretty good idea if thats the kind of flashing it does. Its a fast flash which makes it more of a flicker.
I know that some are saying these flashing modules are not allowed etc etc, and I agree, especially with the module types that do nothing else but flash constantly.
However I'm tempted to try the module type that only flashes for a second or two and then stays on constant as is in normal operation.
And if I do decide to, I will only fit it to the LED Bar 3rd Brake Light mounted in the centre of the boot lid.
I actually purchased some of these modules early in the year from Auto Lumination USA but never got arond to fitting them.
They offer 3 types:
Single Circuit Braker Module (momentary flashing) for use with the 3rd Brake Light (Bulb either On or 0ff)
Dual Circuit Braker Module (momentary flashing) for use with the Tail / Brake Lights (Park & Brake function)
Momentary or Continuous Strobe @ either 10Mhz or 20Mhz for use with the Tail / Brake Lights (Park & Brake function)
Link = AutoLumination Flasher Brake Lights
Note: These modules are not suited for filament style bulbs. A filament style bulb is not capable of fast switching, and cannot strobe.
The power draw of the filament style bulb will destroy the Flashing Modules.
Suitable for LED applications only.
Have a look and see for yourself how they operate.
Regards: Sam.

Hey Jeff anything or part can not work properly at an time.
How many times did you not know that you brake lights were out until someone told you about it.
When was the last time you checked your brake lights regularly.
PS: Now that we're discussing this, I think I will check my brakes lights right now.
I will put my foot on the brake pedal and then I will get out and go around to the rear of my car and check if they are still on.
I"ll report back with my findings.
Sam.
you as the driver have no idea that it's not working properly... best to ensure you get it checked regularly!

I got out and ran around to the rear of my car as quick as I could to check if my brake lights work or not, and shit they were all out out, I suspect something might be wrong, any suggestions.
Sam.
I suspect you are not running fast enough.
Your wife told me you were fast so I can not understand that you can not see them on.
Does anyone know the mathematical equation for working out the speed of 12v electricity.
I hope it's not as quick as the speed of sound because I think I wont be able to beat it.
Now, how the hell I'm I going to check if my brake lights are working or not.

Hey Troy, when do you talk to my wife and why, I think you might need to check your lights if I find out that somethings going on while I've been checking my brake lights.
PS: Hey Mattigins, I dont need a link , I need a private eye to keep a check on Troy and my wife.
