CJ MY11 Hatchback - Steering Wheel Wiring diagram

Postby baldandangry » Fri Jun 12, 2015 12:41 pm

Hi guys!

Ive had my old Lancer written off, and bought another :) I had a Pioneer AVH-P8450BT installed, but never bothered to hook up the original controls on the steering wheel.
I'd like to do this in the new one though. Any pointers? A good Google search failed to turn up anything useful.

Thanks

Hi,

Just to see if I understand your question - you have a new head unit to install and want to use the stock controls on the steering wheel?

From the tiny amount of research I've done, the aftermarket head unit will need a CANBUS adaptor to plug into the stock wiring loom.

All the units I've seen on eBay either come with the adaptor, or offer it as an additional extra. Some sellers aren't clear on whether you need the adaptor or not, so be careful.

Cheers,
V

You will need a

Metra Axxess ASWC-1 Steering Wheel Control Interface

or

PAC SWI-RC Steering Wheel Control Interface

You only need a CANBUS adapter if you have a factory amp fitted, from what I understand you have the Head Unit already fitted you will only need one of the above, I have the Metra in my 2009 VRX and it works great

Brilliant. I bought one of the PAC SWI-RC interfaces from Crutchfield. So I guess there goes my weekend :)

Thanks for your advice guys
