There is a lot less prep work if you just wrap it in vinyl, especially if it is pre-cut. Basically just clean and apply. Btw Nice job Frosty, you did an awesome job!

Turbo - Yeah, Performix (the manufacturer of Plasti Dip) also make top coats to add metallic fleck or a sheen - much like clear coat goes over the top of automotive paint; glossifier goes over plasti dip.

Lewhite - I would definitely be using plasti dip for that one, vinyl is great but personally I like the control of plasti dip.

Buzz - Thanks man, appreciated :)

did mine today!!!!

its a great product to use especially for the bottom lip.to only problem i found was peeling the tape at the bottom of the lip cause the material is elastic,it doesnt cut of properly when u peel the tape and i didnt wana use the pen knife as it will scratch the paint.but doesnt matter it at the bottom so u cant see it lol

Joel, the best way around that is to take the tape off ASAP when it's wet; or alternatively cut the plasti dip after it has fully dried. I wouldn't suggest the second option because you will almost certainly cut into your clear coat.

Doesn't plasti dip peel off too easy on the front. I follow a few people over in the USA on instagram with Cjs and theyve had troubles with it peeling off after a while.

Terry, it shouldn't be too much of an issue provided you apply nice thick coats on a well prepared surface.
If you half-ass the prep work and don't get a perfectly clean panel (even fingerprints will give it a place to start lifting) it won't turn out the way you want.
I've washed my car 3 times since I did this mod and it's showing no sign of lifting.

Fair enough then, didn't think many people on here had used that method for that reason. But there you go haha.
