Evo_Girl's SX...A whole new direction...??

Postby Evo_Girl » Sat Jun 02, 2012 2:06 pm

Hi guys, I am looking at doing something completely different to my lancer and I was playing around on my partners Forza 4 game and I came to the decision to what I want to do and I was looking for opinions on what you guys think about the idea...

Number one would be a body kit...So since I got my lancer I have been looking for a body kit that I really like, something a bit more different. I found one on the charge speed website that I think looks really sexy but was a bit knocked back by the price.

Secondly I want to respray the whole car, a different color. At this stage I really like the orange that the Ford Focus comes in.

So as I said I played around on Forza and believe it or not the body kit I want was on the game LOL

Here are some photo's of what I want to do with it...

Sorry for the poo poo pictures, I had to take the pictures of the TV as I didn't know my partners logging for Xbox Live Gold. But you get the idea.

Now if I do this, it will be a really expensive mod (talking around $5000) the kit alone is $2000...

So yeah I really like this concept and although I'm gone have to life of bread and water for the next 5 months I am really leaning toward the idea.

Tell me what ya's think

Looks like an Audi R8 at the front, note the Evo has a wider kit though - might look weird around your doors.

haha nice title :P

I like it looks sweet, note that a few people have already pimped out the orange look, why not something alittle different?

Yeah you can get the wide kit or just the normal kit for the standard lancer.

@Dirtee well if I do this it will be another 5 months, maybe even longer, so I will have plenty of time to think about colors, but I have a few other color in mind, green and even pink

I've never seen a green one, that would look sick!

Don't worry about Time, my project car will be off the road for around 12 months getting work done to it, seems so long :P

That looks like an awesome kit.

As for colour... I dont believe I have seen a pink lancer. Would definitely stand out :P

Not sure if it's still pink, but there is/was a pink EvoX in Singapore.

There's also bumblebee yellow, which looks pretty good.

Electric orange is good but I am also curious to see a CJ in yellow. The previous Lancer had that shade but for some reason did away with it with our model. Respraying, however, has outrageous costs in Australia, and to change the colour will be even more as the interior and engine bay have to be taken cared of as well. It may be worthwhile doing considering the factory paint quality is rubbish but you're looking at about $4-5K for a decent finish.

Bodykits will be nice to add if you have the budget, but I suggest you don't overdo it to the point that it will look too ricey. It's also important that the new parts fit properly as huge gaps would make it an eyesore. The one you have there looks just fine, but I'm not really a fan of removing the front badge.

If your painting the car in a different colour, depending on the brand of paint you choose and who you choose to paint it your looking at 10-14 grand, as for the body kit when are you looking at buying one? as i'm looking at buying the front bar side skirts for that kit and keeping my ralliart rear so if your going to order soon we could order together and save on shipping.
the concept of this build looks really good
