Various interior parts removal

Postby lukeaday » Fri Nov 26, 2010 7:58 pm

Hi Guys,
I am starting to get requests for wrapping various interior parts in vinyl.

I have tried searching on the forums but haven't had much luck in regards to "How to" or "DIY" to remove some of the parts.

Plastic parts on my list to remove are

- Silver Steering wheel audio controls

- Bone/light grey Interior "A" Pilars

- Bone/light grey Interior "B" Pilars

- Bone/light grey Interior "C" Pilars

- Dark grey metalic Door and Dash trim

I have had a small attempt at trying to get these off but I would hate to break anything by going about it the wrong way.

It would be a great help if someone could link me any How to's or DIY's for these parts or phone me on 0422 252 958 to discuss how they have to be removed.

Many thanks in advance
P.S. this could also be a help to those that want to send loose parts to me for vinyl wrapping.

Cheers, Luke

You do realise you could have spoken to me. I've removed the entire car when I sound deadened it.

You can buy a special trim removal kit it includes radio removal tools, scrivet removal tools and many handy slim sheetmetal tooling for getting under clips and christmas tree style plugs.

I would try supa tool or autobarn. these kits are a big help.

The panel popping tool helps but you must know which pops to pop first?

This might help you with removing the C pillers. It was a part I had to take out when sound deadening my rear parcel shelf. Made a how to video

Sorry mate. Yeah, come to think of it I should have realised as you have sound deadened your car.

Perhaps you could give me a run down at PMR next week
