Removing Steering wheel - airbag safety question

Hi All!
I promise I [i]have[/] had a good look before posting...
Can anyone point me to a 'how to' to tell me how to remove my steering wheel?
I 'm led to believe that simply removing the battery terminal isn't enough to prevent the airbag from deploying (apparently there's an independent triggering mechanism...).
Let me know!
(I've picked up a leather wheel for my povvo-pack ES)
Cheers!

It's very easy mate, make sure your front wheels are straight,
disconnect the battery and wait a few minutes. There's a panel under the wheel, flips open with small flathead screw driver. Disconnect the yellow and grey harnesses.
Then get your t30 torx driver and unscrew the 2 screws (1 each side of the wheel) they are in tight but you won't break it, and you can't get then out just loose.
Now, you air bag will pull out easily (if not unscrew with the t30 some more) and place the air bag on a soft surface face up.
There is one plug to undo inside then, To get your wheel of just use brute force and some jiggling will get it off.
To reassemble follow steps in reverse. Make sure you put all the plugs back in, and the steering wheel is on straight.

correct.
You will need to disconnect the battery.
then remove the two steering column plastic cases. which have the ignition wiring loom and steering looms.
In there you will hopefully find a yellow connector with cable that is in a yellow sheath. that is the air bag cable.
Unplug that and your good to go.
Still use caution.
Use the search function on here and look for CVT paddle shifters. there is a good write up with pictures.
If this is the first time taking the steering wheel off it will require a little bit of patience and force...

Took me 30 minutes but that was first time, and like Dan said use cvt guide for pictures and be careful with that airbag

BTW - there's a few pictures missing - where is the yellow airbag plug located?
Thanks!

With the passing of time, all the pictures disappear as picture hosing isn't reliable and the owner of those pics has since been banned here, so I guess he removed it.
For the yellow plug, look below the steering wheel, there's a small panel, remove it and you shall see the yellow plug!

BTW, what's a set of fog lights for a MY2014 worth? p/No. MZ380602EX
No rush, I won't be able to afford them for quite a while...
Cheers!

Go aftermarket for 110$ OEM will cost you and they are same thing just controlled by a switch in your dash
