I'm pretty new to car electrics, but I'd like to get some "puddle lamps" fitted to my VRX. My Verada had them - lights on the bottom of the door pointing down to the road. I'd like to fit some to the body of the car where the doors opened, and ideally would like them wired up to the centre room light so when I unlock the car they come on, etc etc.
However, can someone tell me where I can find the centre room light wiring, apart from taking my whole roof lining off?
Also, can anyone recommend some sort of "for dummies" guide for car wiring? I will be getting my uncle (who knows about all this) to help me, so I'm not going to stuff it up

Ash behind the glove box there is a plug for the interior lights. I bought A wiring loom and interior light from a wreckers I believe from an ES Lancer. Below is the picture of the plug that you need to find behind the glove box.
Now my car had the same white plug but different coloured wiring. I also had more wires as I have a sunroof which I believes run from the same plug.
I found my plug and hooked my interior light and floor blue led lights. You need to do the same.
You need to connect you earth to the wire in the corner and the positive to the one next to it.
If you need any help please pm me your number and I can help over the phone.

Thanks so much! I managed to find the plug, now I just need to get the strips that I want. How would I go about getting the wires from under the body to inside the car?
Thanks again.
Thanks again.

You dont need them on the outside of the car.
You need to run 2 wires through the rubber cover into your doors. You need to strip the interior apart to do all this. If you look by the hinges of your doors you will see the black flexible rubber. There is wires in there already for central locking, electric windows and other accessories. You will need to run the wires behind the dash along the door seals and into the A and B pillars. You will need to take off your door trims as will so you can get the wiring to under the doors.
It is all fairly easy if you know how to pull interior trims apart and of coarse put them back together.
I have thought to do this myself but I think I have enough with the blue floor led's.
