I got one of these of James (ebay) as well.
Fits in quite well.
As people are saying - you get what you pay for.
It does have the IGO gps software which works well.
I cannot get the steering wheel controls working though. Have been throwing emails back and forward - always get a reply but no success.
He is sending me out a new CAN BUS and harness this week to see if that will rectify the problem, but he believes the steering wheel controls will only work if the original system is Rockford Fosgate.
s84kam has one (as he indicated above) and has worked out how to splice some wires and make it work. I tried but still nothing.
I'll keep trying...

Steering wheel controls AFAIK are identical in the RF vs. standard audio system? After all they're just buttons without any kind of advanced circuitry.

Ral1rt wrote:Hey paul, maybe I was just unlucky with mine. It was a great unit while it lasted. First the DVD/CD player wouldn't work, then the GPS aerial failed now the touch screen doesn't work correctly and radio reception is horrible.. All I can use now is the Ipod connector and radio. Seriously thinking about going back to the stock setup or maybe splurging more cash on an aftermarket one again. I tried for weeks to contact james, the seller, and he never responded. I even offered to meet up with him in china to swap it over as I was over there on a business trip, but never heard a thing. I really hope you have better luck with it than I did mate.

It's honest feedback like this which we really need to be able to see/hear. Hope you left appropriate feedback on eBay!

Yeah I wondered about that as well. Just didn't sit well.
I'll wait to get the new CANBUS and give it a go.

Hi! I have this exact device mounted in my lancer. It cost me about 800 us $.
It comes with digital tv (separatelly), backwards camera, miusb, bluetooth (the mitsubishi bluetooth won't work with this device, so it includes another one), ipod cable to the glovebox, 8 different gps softwares with all the radars (the one I preffer is sygic)...

At first I had a lot of problems because I bought an old version and it was not compatible with rockford amplifier, so I had to buy an interface from California. Now it works perfectly, im so happy with it... I have my usb connected with my music, i can play any divx film, and the gps software is free to update and better than the mitsubishi one.

You can play music and use the gps at same time. When the navigation software gives you an instruction, the music mutes, and when the instruction finishes it turns on again.

Cons... you lose a little sound quality maybe. The radio doesn't have RDS and the bluetooth doesn't have any phonebook.

I'm thinking of getting one of these OEM-style units and have been researching them for hours. It seems some people have great experiences and others have a few problems. It turns out that there are at least 3 different manufacturers and so I am trying to determine which is the better of the 3.

The 3 manufacturers are listed below, so it should allow you to identify which unit you have so we can try and work out if the problems are linked to a particular manufacturer.

I've had a witson one for 4 weeks now.
I love it, might have just been lucky! LOL!
Didn't buy off ebay, bought directly from WITSON, much much much cheaper.

nah it doesn't work with the stacker. You remove the stacker and the facia.
Its a whole new system. but its got DVD, so a dvd disk space is
equivalent to 6 cds. I use a dual layer disk so thats like 8.5gb of music.

Cool, sounds like the same as I have stock.. Is it digital TV or just analogue, and if so is there input for digital down the track?
