Front Grill Swap

Anyone in Australia want to swap me their Olympic Edition/Aspire front grilles with the standard black ones??
Or alternatively, does anyone know if the Olympic/Aspire ones can be purchased?
I am guessing my dealer won't help as my car did not come with them standard.

ok the grills are OEM parts, and you will be able to order them through your dealer...

Don't the dealers only let you order parts relating to your model spec and order via your VIN? I thought I had read somewhere else that someone had tried to get parts not associated with their particular model and the dealer said they couldn't get them?

Okay cool - thanks I will try. I guess I can always ask a smash repairer too as they can order parts. I got a full genuine Holden SS body kit for my now sold () V8 VS commodore ute a few years ago that way.
I think it's gonna be unlikely that anyone with the Olympic/Aspire grille set would want to swap for standard hehehe....

Yeah I am having no luck with the mrs about the vinyl LOL (she sounds like a real hard ass, but she's actually caused me minimal grief before - I don't know what her problem is with it!) - so I thought the grille change would be ok.
The genuine Mitsubishi 'sports grille' looks a bit lamo, especially as it is only the top half, so Aspire grilles would be good I reckon.

yeah bro, what Ozie said...
I bought my car at Lincorp, but I have bought parts from Col Crawford, PhilGilbert, AND Lincorp Parts.
so, technically the way it goes, as long as you pay for it, you can buy an Evo X in parts for all they care...
and buddy, the best way to solve the problem with the mrs... Just buy it, and fix it. stash the original part, and explain later...

Sorry want to keep mine BUT I did hear you can get an aftermarket one. Let me know if the dealer kicks up and I can order it for you.

I've heard this too, but it was only with HSV.....
They would not let me purchase a part for my VX, as it was not an official HSV.
**I quite liked the sports grill as an option for my hardline wife....

Phoenix, have you bought any parts that don;t come on your car?
I just spoke to my local dealer where I got my car and he said that they can only order parts via a VIN and if your VIN doesn't need that part he can't get it for me.
He sugested I visit the sales yard when it's quiet and grab a VIN from a display vehicle and he can use that....

LOL???? your dealer is whack...
hmm... parts that don't belong on my car. Hows about an OEM Mitsubishi Evolution X Hood, with rubber seals, vents, insulation and the metal plating?
they'll sell you anything as long as you pay for it over here. Hell, I walk in without a VIN number, just ask for what I'm looking for. Like I said before, if I wanted to, I could order an Evo X GSR in complete DIY parts (no, i'm not kidding). Would cost about $150,000 though...
I've asked for prices for MR rims, the Forged BBS RE's, MR Seats, and the Intake Manifold for the Evo (which I might still get).
today I'm ordering 09 Evo lights.
call up 02 8844 4488, and ask for Parts (Lincorp Automotive). order whatever you like.
