ClubCJ - The CJ Lancer Club

I joined the club midway through 2015, to my surprise, over a 1,000 yes one thousand new members appear to have joined the club since then, some of these have been great. Contributing and receiving, useful tips and information which is what this club is about.

One wonders why the rest did? Perhaps they just need help and support, new to these rigmaroles, with minimal expertise, receivers! If so put yourself on board with even just a thanks, works great for me,found !!!???!? also works fine.Plus if available something you did that could be helpful and or of interest to other members.

Maybe they join to ask a question then leave but I do hope they come back when they need help. Yes it would be good for them to use the search function or even Google which seems to work better some of the time.

I think a majority of forum users in general don't have a need to post on every single thread they open. There's a shitload of information on this forum with hundreds, if not thousands of questions that have already been answered. I'd wager most people come through who are new here will use the search feature and find exactly what they need without the need for a new thread or post; and that is fine.

This forum is a low population forum. I understand you're trying to get it to breathe in a bit of new life but I don't think that will be happening. The base CJ's may be a popular car, but not a popular car among enthusiasts. High end sport model specific (Evos for example) forums will always have a much higher activity rate than a standard daily driver like an ES or VRX. Something with a culture will always have a bigger community than a standard model. WRX, Supra, Evolutions and 86/BRZ's are a perfect example of this and have multiple forums with many active groups within.

Everyone has their reasons for joining a forum and then staying. Personally i just wanted to know how to get my mmcs to play DVD when i was driving. 8 years later I'm still here and reasonable active.

I'm pretty sure there are other members like me who are silent observers. I read A lot on the forum and whenever something comes into my mind about the car, there's a good chance it has already been discussed. So there's no real need to revive an old thread just to respond, unless you're adding more valuable information.

I've been around only for a couple of years, so still pretty new. I wish we had meets and cruises more often to get members to see others in person. I have found this to be effective because I have met so many great people through other car clubs and forums.

This is just my 2 cents.

I'm not sure if forum bots are still a thing. Making accounts, collecting information from restricted categories.
Or, just one off's asking single questions and taking their leave.

I myself used to be an active member on this Forum when i had my CJ over 4 or more years ago but now I own a 2016 VF SV6 Commodore i come and check the forum every now and again to see what is happening on here.

I check every now and then.

Havent done anything to my car worth posting about yet. But soon I will. Very soon.

Good on all you active minority!!! Especially you aspir3 for your directives,helpful input and even taking time out, in your roll as senior moderator, be good to have more like you on board.

Maybe time for another election?

Or some might say just shut the forum down. Personally i prefer to leave it going as it is. It only costs us $40 a month and we have plenty of money.

Just leave it up. Being inactive doesn't mean being useless. Even though $40 is barely anything, you could always set up a tip jar/donation feature that allows others to put towards it. I'm sure a few of us would be happy to help out. I can see why that would be avoided on a low activity forum though.

CJ's are getting older and will need more attention, needing more care and attention.
Plus CF now on the board, (face lift CJ) can be embraced.

Not a fan. Looks like every other standard sedan crossed with an outlander. lol...
