Hello all from Douglas in Adelaide

I have been using this forum (amongst others) to get real feedback from the field about how things are going.

I am responsible for Electrical Accesory development here in Mitsubishi HQ in Adelaide, and this forum is an excellent area for information gathering - now hoping to be able to contribute, if this is of help.

Details:
Douglas Glover
Adelaide Hills
Currently drive a Challenger, but previously various Lancers (including an EvoX before a rally mate bought it!)
Apart from tinkering with making smoke come out of wires in cars, I enjoy rallying (navigator in 1982 yellow RX-7, for those that are involved in the local events), sailing, camping and bushwalking. I am giving up watching cricket until England pull their bloody socks up!

Apologies if i don't check out the forum very often, but I will try....

Welcome aboard Doug!

Always good to have knowledgeable members on here contributing (who may or may not own a CJ).

You must have an iron stomach to be navigator in a rally car! How's the air up there in the RX-7?!

Great photo!

Thanks for the welcome - if it's any help, my wife is in a 14MY VRX - with a few development parts on! I enjoy the Lancer but it can't really cope with towing the rally car or camper....

Navigating in the RX-7 on gravel is no problem - the only time my tummy complained was in one of Mr Heaphey's Evos (as a Zero car) on tarmac - too many G-forces for my liking.

Welcome to the club Douglas!

Would love to hear more about your rally experiences. I recently did a rally driving experience with fellow club member Mitch in a WRX out at Willowbank and had a blast, was tempted to ignore rally coach in passenger seat and do more laps ;-P I'm one step closer to TArga Tasmania lol (a few more steps involved I know)

For anyone interested in rallying - it is dead easy; find a local motorsport car club and pop round to a meeting. Always looking for more people to take part - especially those willing to get close to the action and assist in the running (officials) which is a great way to see what goes on. The same applies to all the other sporting codes - but really, you have to admit, rallying is the best!
