Hi Guys,

So after selling my CJ Ralliart 1yr ago and missing it intensely, I decided to go on the hunt for another Lancer for a second car! On Monday I came across a 2008 VRX Lancer with only 140xxx for $3000 which is unbelievably cheap, naturally I bought it. Only issue it has is the paint, I have heard a few people complaining about the quality of the Lightning Blue factory paint from this year, has anyone else heard of this?? The clear coat has peeled of 60% of the car but in a very unusual way.. Does anyone know of a way in which to repair this without a full paint job??

Hi Jordan,

My MY 02 wrx has the same issue, unfortunately it is due to the vehicle being out in the sun it's whole life and not being washed and polished properly, the only way to get a clear coat back is a respray, which is what I'm going to get done soon.

How far has the peeling gone? Roof, boot bonnet and guards?

Unfortunately it will need to be repainted or you can wrap it in vinyl
