so just a another question, do you guys beeble and merlin, do you use the gst basemap as the template and tune it to suit the specific car?
which would get me more power :p

Beeble does tuning specific to your car. Mine has about 208kw atw with e-flex, haven't checked what it is on 98 yet
But it should be around 185

ok so when I take in to get it tuned, do i have to tell em i want the car tuned for E85?
or do I simply just use e85 after the tune to gain more power instead of 98?

what i'm trying to ask is, is the same ecu tune used for both fuel types? and will I have different power output based on what fuel I fill up?

as your in sydney, i would contact merlin, he`s not the cheapest but he will give u an excellent custom tune, he also has his own boost pills so its a one stop shop :)

with him u dont need cables or gauges, he supplies it all and tunes your car from the passengers seat, no etune.

thats if u want max power available, otherwise option 1 is looking good.

e85 and 98 use your ecu with 2 different fuel maps which can be switched from the cockpit.

u have to have the specific fuel in your fueltank that u want it tuned to so yeah to answer your question, u have to do it manually though,

i even confused myself there, lol.

what i meant was that if u ask the tuner to tune it to both fuels he can but its 2 seperate fuel maps so more expensive

Welcome.

Seeing as tho U R from Sydney if U go Merlin he could prob do it sooner/littler notice, then what beeble can as he is from Melbourne, U will find a lot of the Sydney guys have used Merlin just because of the convince factor, as they both well respected tuners within the forum.

Because you have an 09 ralliart you get switch on the fly. By holding down cruise control for 5 secs an intercooler spray light (I think) will come on which means that you have switched between maps ( from 98 to e85). You don't need anything additional from what I've been told.

wow that sounds very interesting and tempting, but doesnt the fuel tank need to be emptied out and refilled with e85 in order to switch in between fuels lol?

Dude... UR boost pill you can get from Alan (aka Megatron) here http://akracing.com.au/
Look near the bottom. $28 for the pill.

Then you can get the GST tune free online, but need the tactrix. Depends how much tuning you wanna do, it may be worth getting the tactrix. Otherwise, get merlin or someone with a tactrix to upload the tune. Its a 5min job.

However, 3port is better. You don't get more power from it, but it will hold boost better in higher RPM, where as the boost pill drops off. So you get better acceleration with the 3-port...

Either way, its the cheapest and best mod you can do on the ralliart. Once tuned, it will be quicker than a stock evo :)
