New member from WA!

Postby dtrial » Sat Jul 10, 2010 3:10 pm

Hi guys,

I've just realized that there are new members section in this forum.
anyhows, I have a 2008 VR CJ lancer (lightning blue) which I bought about 3 weeks ago.
This car comes with VRX spoiler when I bought it.
Everything else is still standard stuff.
Was looking at a few mods (VRX lip spoiler, blacking out the front bumper and HID lights).
Will post pics once all these are installed!
So I'll see you guys around!

Regards,
Rendy

Welcome Rendy,

Let us know what sort of mods U R chasing and many here in Perth, myself included can advise you on places and prices. There are few basic mods that can greatly increase your cars performance as you will read about in the various threads. :D :D :D

Thanks all for the warm welcome!
I've ordered lip spoiler a few days ago from rchillmitsubishi, ebay (had no idea about shadows or ofey at that time).
Also pm-ed lukeaday for the vinyls.

I could use an autoworkshop that does the fitting of lip spoilers and HID, does anyone knows a good one and not so pricey (kinda limited on the budget)?
I'm totaly new with all these and dont think that I have all the right equipment, so I'm not so sure if DIY is an option.

Will try my best to make it to the next cruise! :D

Rendy the rear lip spoiler can be really easy to fit, if you do it the way I did. I bought one from Mitsubishi which has all the instruction. They say to drill 3 holes in the boot to help hold it into place.I did not do this!

I used the double side tape provided on the spoiler and some Sikaflex which can be bought at any hardware or auto shop. It is also a good idea to clean the boot properly with prepsol first before fitting the spoiler. This will hold as good as the screws and a lot easier. The only thing is it will be hard to remove.

1; remove screws (i think they slide in slots)
2; test it sits on the boot.
3; clean boot with prepsol
4; remove tape strips
5; add sikaflex to spoiler, not too much
6; carefully and evenly put it on the boot
7; clean any excess sikaflex that may have squeezed out
8; allow sikaflex to drive before hitting the freeway. (double sided tape should be enough to hold it for little slow drives)

Really this is the cheapest and best option. It is the easiest DYI ever. If you passed sticky tape and gluing at kindy then you qualify.

At the end of the day it will be cheaper and more satisfying to do it yourself.

Best of luck.

The lip spoiler I ordered was the front one not the rear. But it should work the same way right? or do you have other tips for fixing the front lip spoiler? sorry really new with all these stuff.

Do you mean the front air dams?

If so there are DYI or how to do it on fitting them.

Hey Bianca :D
WA's second girl maybe? I'm not sure.

Our cruises are a bit random. Last time we just kind of drove around (was still fun) but we go into the hills for a more exciting drive sometimes too :D
And we had a track day not long ago.
I've only met maybe 8-10 WA members? Theres not too many... Ie we need more so you should BOTH come! :D

/sales pitch.

But seriously.
:P

Oh and new speed cameras come out TODAY apparently, per Matthew's post, so watch out. Not that anybody speeds :)
