Re: Coolant Change - What do you normally do ?
I suspect since its 8 year life coolant thats why its mostly expensive.. Nulon seems easy to get and is blue, but premix is 8 year and concentrate is 5 year.. weird. http://www.supercheapauto.com.au/Product/NULON-A-FREEZE-A-BOIL-PREMIX-COOLANT/523187 workshop manual just mentions the following - *si...

Coolant Change - What do you normally do ?
Mitsu dealership told me they only sell 5L of Premium blue coolant. theres no more cheaper concentrate being sold ? @ $120 ex-gst for premium pre-mix 5L, it would need 2 bottles for 7.4Litre capacity of my car. (4b12 - Outlander, should be same as lancer) Expensive for a proper coolant replacement w...

Re: CVT whine
should load up http://cvtz50.info/en/ and check fluid deterioration counter. if its more of an issue after a long drive I suspect the fluid has lost some of its cooling abilities. I would expect a high fluid deterioration value. whinge is probably from the bearings in the CVT unit. fluid change shou...

Re: Anyone tried CVTz50 ? CVT diagnostics data
My Outlander is MY11 (ZH) model so 4B12. been driving around while monitoring on the app. it connects ok with my ELM 327 v1.5 BT adapter. Play store description mentions the following - - Supports Nissan Murano Z50/Z51, partial support of other vehicles equipped with Jatco CVT – Nissan Teana, X-Trai...

Re: Anyone tried CVTz50 ? CVT diagnostics data
I purchased the app (CVTz50) and tried it on the Outlander. (4B12 Engine / FJ011e CVT) Works perfect with my ELM 327 v1.5 adapter. Can connect and check CVT Data. Hopefully should be able to reset fluid deterioration date Should probably work in a lancer, someone should try.

Anyone tried CVTz50 ? CVT diagnostics data
Hi all, I bumped into this interesting Android application which apparently will let you reset the fluid deterioration date. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cvtz50.cvtz50&hl=en Seems to be country locked on the Play Store. Anyone played arouind with this yet ? I've found a good...

Re: 110k Mitsy Service Question - 09 VRX
Best to call around, since all dealers don't charge the same amount for the same work. i think with extended dealer warranties, you have to service it on the dot just before the service item is due. Otherwise it may give them an excuse to reject any warranty claims related to that service item.

Thanks for the helpful posts Kal777. What model of Jatco CVT you have ? Good to know that your CVT filter DIY is a Repco supplied kit. I've called Mitsu in the past and they reported that theres no serviceable parts within the CVT tranny. I've got a MY11 Outlander currently @ 80k. 1st Service interv...

CVT Fluid change - Deterioration level ECU update
I've read a number of posts of ppl DIY CVT fluid changes, but I assume no one updates the deterioration level on the ECU.. but then again you need the official M.U.T III diag tool.. Does anyone bother updating this ? Do the chinese clones of M.U.T III properly update deterioration level parameter ? ...

Slight CVT Knocking Sound normal ?
Im pretty sure my Outlanders CVT tranny is either same model or one model difference from Lancers. Just wondering if slight knocking sound in CVT is normal or not at low speeds? Seems to occur under the following circumstances - RPM - 1200 to 1800 (more common around 1200) Speed - 35 to 45k's, goes ...

Just confirmed my 1 year warranty. Thinking I might go the dealer route just on a vague chance of slightly more lenient warranty claims if need arises, to have any service bulletins completed and reset the deterioration date on the ECU for CVT fluid change. Then do the rest of the services myself ha...

Thanks Black Ice for the reply. Yeah I definitely know changing the fluid ASAP is the best insurance policy. Fluid colour doesn't look too bad though, still moderately golden looking without bad smell so that's a plus for its past life I guess but definitely changing it within the next week.. I don'...

Warranty Q. Mitsubishi & own servicing. (Outlander)
Well I got my 2nd hand (newish) Outlander MY11. Apparently it still has 1 year warranty left as advised by the local Honda dealer I purchased the car off (used) ending October 2015. History goes like this - 15,000 service (on time at dealer based on km's) 35,000 service (on time at dealer based on k...
